Global entertainment company Content Media Corporation and Palatin Media have secured joint international distribution on Date My Dad, the brand new original comedy drama premiering on UP TV in the US later this year.

The ten-part series, which will be co-produced by Content Media and Bernd Schlötterer’s Palatin Media as part of the agreement, is currently in production by 50? North in association with EveryWhere Studios. Starring Barry Watson (Samantha Who?, 7th Heaven, Hart of Dixie) and Hollywood icon Raquel Welch (One Million Years B.C., The Three Musketeers), Date My Dad, which tells the story of a single dad raising three daughters, will make its debut to the global market at MIP-TV in April. Date My Dad is the latest title to be launched through the distribution partnership established between Content Media Corporation and Palatin Media.

Date My Dad is produced by Charles Lyall and executive produced by 50? North’s Sacha McLean, Jason McLean, David McLean and Brenda McLean, along with EveryWhere Studios’ Dan Angel and Tom Mazza, Bernd Schlötterer for Palatin Media and Greg Phillips for Content Media. The series is created, written and executive produced by Nina Colman. The series also stars Lilah Fitzgerald (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce), Audrey Smallman (Family for Christmas) and Zenia Marie Marshall (Summer of Dreams).

Bernd Schlötterer, Founder of Palatin Media, commented, “Date My Dad presents a highly engaging and entertaining perspective on modern life and relationships, with all its drama, dilemmas, hilarity and heart-warming moments, standing alongside the tradition of huge worldwide success stories such as 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls. UP TV is renowned for showcasing content that has wide appeal for all ages and presenting a stellar cast, in this case Barry Watson, who shines in family drama, and global superstar Raquel Welch. I’m confident that this brand new family dramedy will prove very successful worldwide through our collaboration with Content Media.”

Greg Phillips, President of Distribution at Content Media, commented, “With its contemporary storylines, well-developed characters and acclaimed talent both on- and off-screen, Date My Dad holds great appeal for the international market. We are seeing strong demand for relatable and authentic primetime comedy drama and I’m looking forward to working with Palatin Media to bring this fantastic new series to international audiences.”

Ricky Cooper (Watson) had the perfect life. A former professional baseball player, he was married to Isabella, the love of his life. Ricky’s world comes crashing down when Isabella passes away leaving him to raise three daughters alone. Date My Dad picks up three years later while Ricky is raising the girls with the help of his live-in mother-in-law Rosa (Welch). On his 40th birthday, Ricky experiences a different type of crisis when Rosa unexpectedly announces that she is moving. He becomes panic-stricken knowing he will have to tackle everything from make-up to boys to driving tuition on his own. So his daughters make it their mission to get their dad back in the game… the dating game that is. Ricky is in for a roller coaster ride as he is pushed into the dating world for the first time in twenty years while also being the best dad he can be to his girls.
