Frankie Drake Mysteries

Synopsis

SEASON 1

Set in 1920s Toronto, Frankie Drake Mysteries follows the city’s only female private detectives as they take on the cases the police don’t want to touch. In a time of change and hopefulness, their gender is their biggest advantage as they defy expectations and rebel against convention.

The Drake Private Detectives take on cases that explore every cross-section of Toronto, from gospel church choirs, bathing beauties and the early cinema scene, to the homes and private parties of the city’s elite. Frankie (Lauren Lee Smith, The Listener) and Trudy’s (Chantel Riley, Race) fearless sense of adventure gets them into all kinds of trouble, but they always manage to find a way out. They are new detectives for a new world – but is the world ready for them?

SEASON 2

Frankie Drake Mysteries follows Toronto’s first female private detectives as they solve cases the police can’t, and other detective agencies won’t. In the brand-new second season, cases will take Frankie and her team of gal pals across prohibition-era Toronto, from renowned museums and high fashion houses, to dance halls and baseball leagues.

The year is 1921 and the world is undergoing massive changes. Jazz is on the turntables as communism and prohibition are being hotly debated over hard drinks in speakeasies. Society will never be the same – and crime has never had it better. A new age calls for a new kind of detective, and the women of Drake Private Detectives fit the bill.
